Xuguang Meng
Dr. Meng is the director of the Division of Regional Planning, the Chinese academy of land and resource economics. She got her B.S. degree on economy from the Department of Economic Management， Hebei Geological Institute in July, 1985. She engaged the economy management work in Inner Mongolia 101 hydrology and geology engineer team from July 1985 to September 1987.

Resources Economics of the former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources.
Members composition: The division of Regional Planning have 16 researchers now, which include 11 Ph.D.s and masters. The division have all the disciplines needed, which include land use planning, land management, urban and regional planning, geology mining, mining engineering, national economy, economy management, regional economy, etc. Most of these researchers have inter-discipline education background, and they form a vital and energetic research group.
Research areas: the division mainly focuses on the national resource planning (including mineral resources planning and land use planning, etc); land and resources exploitation and utilization; regional economy development; land use planning; land and resources safety, management, investigation evaluation and the evaluation on the development and utilization techniques.
Service areas: the division compiles mineral resources planning; land use planning; land and resources planning, etc; organizing the grand projects for the province and city level mineral resources planning, land use planning and land and resources planning; developing the mineral resources management information system; compiles the “eleventh five-year” land resources planning.
Prize obtained: Our division fulfilled all the research tasks very well, and got the advanced collective for eight years continuously. In 2002, we were one of the first units who won prize for the advanced employee’s home. We also won the civilized division in Ministry of Land and Resources in both 2003 and 2005. We win the tenth five year’s advanced work group of the Ministry of Land and Resources. The communist party branch is appraised advanced communist party branch by the department that belong to time after time，and is appraised twice by the party committee directly under the Ministry of Land and Resources “the party branch directly under the Ministry of Land and Resources”. During the year of 2003 and 2004, over 26 person-times won the advanced employee, advanced research individual or the excellent communist.
We won the second place prize for Science and Technology twice in the Ministry of National Land and Resource for the researches of “mineral resources plan research” and “exploiting and developing of the western areas mineral resources- potential and planning”, which we participated and fulfilled.
The Secretary Department of the Special Committee for Resource Economics for Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources economies association is subjected to our department.
